A major shift has taken place in the politics of Bihar. Samrat Choudhary has now become the state’s 24th Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony was held at 11:00 AM at Lok Bhawan, located in the state capital, Patna, where Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oaths of office and secrecy to him.

Several prominent leaders and dignitaries were present on this occasion. A notable highlight of the ceremony was the presence of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In the new government, two senior leaders from the Janata Dal (United) Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Yadav also took the oath. Both of them have been appointed as Deputy Chief Ministers. However, the full cabinet has not yet been announced, leaving open the possibility of more new faces being inducted in the future. Prior to the swearing-in, Samrat Choudhary also demonstrated his religious faith; he visited the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman. Subsequently, he proceeded directly to the swearing-in ceremony. After taking the oath, Samrat Choudhary officially assumed charge as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Under his leadership, this marks the first time that a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government has been formed in the state. It is noteworthy that Nitish Kumar had resigned from the post of Chief Minister just this Monday. He served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for nearly 20 years and is now preparing to move to the Rajya Sabha. Overall, this marks the beginning of a new chapter in Bihar’s politics, and all eyes are now fixed on the decisions of the new government and the formation of the upcoming cabinet.
