Ranchi – Temperatures have soared above 41 degrees Celsius in several districts of Jharkhand, causing significant discomfort to the residents and disrupting normal life.
On Sunday, Chaibasa recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41°C. In addition, three other cities in the state reported temperatures close to 40°C. Daltonganj recorded 40.7°C, Jamshedpur reached 40°C, and Bokaro saw a temperature of 40.1°C. Ranchi, the state capital, also experienced a rise in temperature, reaching 37°C.
The high temperatures are making life difficult, especially for outdoor workers and those without access to proper cooling. The intense heat has raised concerns about the health and safety of residents, with many advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for light rain and thunderstorms in the western districts of Jharkhand. According to weather officials, there is a chance of rain in other parts of the state in the next one or two days, which could provide some relief from the scorching heat.
