Mahatma Gandhi Also Emphasized Adopting Swadeshi – Hemant Soren

In his address, Chief Minister Hemant Soren explained the significance of Swadeshi products in simple terms. He stated that our country is home to diverse societies and communities, each possessing its own unique identity and characteristics, and that this very diversity constitutes India’s strength. He clarified that the concept of Swadeshi entails utilizing and promoting goods manufactured within our own country. He asserted that it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to embrace and champion products made in our nation. The Chief Minister further noted that Mahatma Gandhi, too, had strongly advocated for the adoption of Swadeshi and had inspired the masses to do so. He highlighted that fairs of this nature serve as excellent platforms for local artisans, craftsmen, and small-scale entrepreneurs to showcase their products to the public and gain recognition for their artistic talents. Furthermore, such events serve as an effective medium for preserving and promoting our ancient art and culture. He mentioned that the state government is consistently organizing such programs to ensure that Swadeshi products receive promotion in both rural and urban areas. The uniqueness of Jharkhand lies not merely in its mineral wealth; indeed, a plethora of beautiful and utilitarian resources are also found above its soil. He also pointed out that the indigenous dietary habits and lifestyle practices adopted by our ancestors remain highly beneficial even today; however, in contemporary times, people are increasingly being influenced by various trends that have a detrimental impact on their physical well-being. Praising the youth and children of Jharkhand, the Chief Minister remarked that there is absolutely no dearth of talent in the region. Despite facing limited resources, the youth of the state are making continuous strides in the fields of education, sports, and culture, thereby bringing glory to the state.

On this occasion, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren toured the various stalls and exhibitions set up at the fair. They interacted with the artisans and lauded their craftsmanship. A wide array of indigenous products such as handcrafted textiles, jewelry, decorative items, and products made from clay and bamboo are drawing large crowds at the fair. The event was also attended by several other public representatives and dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Rajya Sabha MPs Aditya Sahu and Deepak Prakash.
