A major political rally was organized in the Raipur Assembly constituency of West Bengal’s Bankura district, attended by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren. He addressed a massive public gathering in support of the BJP candidate from this constituency, Khetran Mohan Hansda.

The rally witnessed a massive turnout. Observing this crowd, BJP leaders claimed that public sentiment in the Junglemahal region is rapidly shifting in favor of the BJP. In his speech, Champai Soren launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He expressed astonishment that those who insult the country’s President, Droupadi Murmu, could go to tribal-dominated areas and seek votes. He accused the TMC of being anti-tribal. Champai Soren further stated that the people of West Bengal gave the Left Front 35 years to govern, followed by 15 years to the TMC; yet, despite this, the public received very little in the name of development. Citing the example of a road in the Raipur area, he noted that a road constructed at a cost of ₹140 crore is currently in a dilapidated condition serving as living proof of corruption. Appealing to the public, he emphasized that it is absolutely essential to oust this corrupt government from power. He also highlighted that the BJP-led Central Government has consistently worked in the best interests of tribals, indigenous people, and locals, while accusing the state’s TMC government of prioritizing Bangladeshi infiltrators. Concluding his speech, Champai Soren urged the public to vote for the BJP, declaring that the dream of “Sonar Bangla” would only be realized when a BJP government is formed in the state.
