The cold wave is still affecting most districts of Jharkhand, though a slight increase in minimum temperatures has been noticed in some areas. The Meteorological Department said on Monday that the cold wave may continue in many parts of the state until January 15. In the state capital, Ranchi, the minimum temperature, which was 6.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, rose to 8.5 degrees Celsius on Monday. Similarly, Jamshedpur recorded an increase from 8 to 10.8 degrees Celsius, Daltonganj from 3.5 to 6.1 degrees, Bokaro from 6.1 to 7.6 degrees, and Chaibasa from 6.6 to 8.6 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has forecast that on January 13, the northwestern and central regions of the state may experience cold wave conditions. On January 14 and 15, the cold wave may also affect some areas in the northwestern, central, and southern parts. Over the next three days, the minimum temperatures across the state are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. After that, no major changes in temperature are likely for the next two days. On Monday, Ranchi and nearby areas saw clear weather from the morning. People experienced biting cold in the early hours, but as the day progressed, sunlight provided some relief. In the evening, the cold intensified again, and the chill returned. The Meteorological Department has advised residents to take precautions against the cold, especially during early mornings and late evenings.
