Ranchi: The district administration launched an anti-drunk driving campaign late on Monday night, cracking down on individuals found driving under the influence of alcohol. Many drivers were fined, and challans were issued during the campaign.
Under the guidance of Ranchi District Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, the campaign was carried out in several areas of Ranchi city on March 17. The operation was led by District Transport Officer (DTO) Akhilesh Kumar.
As part of the campaign, the authorities conducted checks on drivers, reminding them to adhere to safety rules while driving. The focus was on ensuring the safety of both the drivers and others on the road. Drivers who were found to have consumed alcohol were penalized with fines, and they were strongly advised not to drive under the influence, emphasizing the importance of their own safety and the well-being of their families.
The district administration has made it clear that this campaign will continue in the future, with strict actions planned for those violating traffic rules. Driving under the influence of alcohol significantly contributes to road accidents, and the administration aims to reduce such incidents through these ongoing efforts.
