Clash Between Two Groups During Holi Procession in Giridih, Police Force Deployed

Giridih – A violent clash broke out between two groups during the Holi procession on Friday night in Ghorathamba, Dhanwar block, Giridih district. The dispute led to stone pelting and arson in the area. As a result, a large number of police officers and CRPF personnel have been deployed to maintain control.

Reports indicate that three to four people were injured, and around six shops were set on fire during the incident. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting raids to identify and arrest the culprits responsible for the violence.

Giridih SP Dr. Bimal Kumar confirmed that a dispute between two parties occurred while playing Holi in the Ghorathamba OP area. Both groups are being identified, and legal action will be taken. He assured that the situation is now under control, thanks to immediate police intervention.

Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Smita Kumari stated that the Holi procession, held every year, faced disruption this time due to the actions of unknown individuals who attempted to create unrest. She confirmed that some shops, bikes, and vehicles were set on fire but that the fire has since been extinguished. Further actions are being taken to address the incident.
