In a grand ceremony held today under the aegis of Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Smita Bhagat, Country Head, HDFC Bank was felicitated for her exemplary leadership and contribution to the banking sector. The event, chaired by Chamber Chairman Kishor Mantri and conducted by Vice Chairman Aditya Malhotra, highlighted the pivotal role played by Smita Bhagat in driving forward HDFC Bank’s initiatives in various sectors.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Kishor Mantri highlighted Smita Bhagat’s significant efforts as Country Head of Government and Institutional Business, E-Commerce and Startups and emphasized her commitment towards delivering world-class banking solutions. she lauded her role in implementing digital payment solutions in government bodies, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and others, thereby promoting financial inclusion in Jharkhand and beyond.
Smita Bhagat gratefully accepted the honour bestowed on her and thanked the Chamber and the people of Jharkhand for their support. She expressed her desire to further expand HDFC Bank’s reach in the region. She added that the bank plans to cross 100 branches in Jharkhand soon, including with a focus on rural areas.
During the interactive session, discussions were held on accelerating government schemes in agriculture and expanding banking services in semi-urban and rural areas. The Chamber pledged continued collaboration with HDFC Bank to promote economic growth and development initiatives in the state.
The event concluded with General Secretary Paresh Gattani thanking Smita Bhagat and the attendees, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to support HDFC Bank’s strategic objectives.
