Guwahati: Assam Home Secretary Shiladitya Chetia was found dead in a private hospital where he shot himself with his service revolver. Sources said Chetia was deeply saddened by the recent demise of his wife, who was suffering from a prolonged illness like brain tumor.
Chetia’s wife was under medical care at the hospital for several months where she was being treated for the illness. The grief of her death is believed to have upset Chetia so much that he took the extreme step.
