Unknown assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at Gyan Jewelers in Bokaro’s Meghdoot Market. The incident, which took place in broad daylight, shook the entire area and spread panic among the people.
Eyewitnesses said that the attackers targeted the jewellery shop and fled from Phusro towards Bank Mor. During this time they kept firing continuously. The attack spread panic in the surrounding area and local shopkeepers blocked the road in anger.
This incident comes a few weeks after a similar firing on May 17, when the attackers fired two rounds inside the jewellery shop, but the people present in the shop narrowly escaped. The recurrence of such violent incidents has further increased the anger among the members of Yuva Vyapari Sangh Phusro, who had earlier also protested by blocking the road and closing shops in response to the attack.
