Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday strongly criticized the BJP government over the deaths of several people due to contaminated water in Indore. He said that Madhya Pradesh has become a center of misgovernance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains silent on the deaths of poor people.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media that in Indore, people were given poison instead of water, while the administration remained asleep. He said mourning is in every home, poor people are helpless, and BJP leaders are making arrogant statements. He asked why no action was taken despite repeated complaints about dirty and foul-smelling water. Rahul Gandhi said, “Clean water is not a favor, it is a right to life. The BJP’s double-engine government, careless administration, and insensitive leadership are fully responsible.”He also alleged thatmisgovernance has reached its peak in Madhya Pradesh, giving examples of deaths from cough syrup, children killed by rats in a government hospital, and now deaths caused by drinking sewage-contaminated water.
