Ranchi: Many areas of Jharkhand are experiencing severe heat, but relief is expected with the arrival of monsoon in the state from June 17. The Ranchi-based Indian Meteorological Department has predicted strong winds, rain and thunderstorms in many areas of Jharkhand on June 17, which is likely to bring a significant change in the weather.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning in many areas of the state till June 16. An ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for Palamu division and surrounding areas, warning of severe heat. Similarly, a warning of severe heat has been issued in the North-West and Kolhan divisions on June 16.
Looking ahead, the temperature is expected to gradually decrease from June 17, as the monsoon will bring relief to the people. During this change, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds in many areas of the state.
