Bokaro, July 22, 2024 – Food and Supplies Minister Banna Gupta noticed many irregularities during the inspection of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) warehouse in Bokaro, which angered him a lot.
Minister Gupta, who is in charge of reforming the Food and Supplies Department, has been making continuous efforts to improve the functioning since taking charge. However, shocking flaws came to light during the visit to the FCI warehouse on Monday. The minister was disappointed to see that the Assistant General Manager responsible for operating the warehouse had kept important records at his home instead of the warehouse and had not left any documents on the spot to confirm the stock.
Minister Gupta expressed displeasure and ordered immediate action against those responsible. He condemned the negligence of spoiling the grains due to rain and stressed the vital need for proper storage conditions. During the inspection, Minister Gupta said in a stern tone, “The warehouse is operated in a house where records are kept. This is a serious irregularity.” Taking a dig at political rivals, Gupta said, “If the BJP feels uncomfortable, so be it. We are committed to take action.”
