Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India is emerging as a beacon of hope for the world. On the second day of Parliament’s budget session, he highlighted that the country is moving rapidly on the ‘reform express’ and that the government is committed to ensuring that every decision benefits the last person in the society. Prime Minister thanked the Members of Parliament for their positive contribution in implementing various reforms. He said that even his critics acknowledge the government’s commitment to reaching the last person and that this tradition of reforms will continue for future generations. Emphasizing the role of Parliament, he said that this is not the time to create problems, but to find solutions.

Free Trade Agreement with the European Union

Referring to the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU), Prime Minister Modi called it a major achievement for India’s youth and manufacturers. He said the agreement brings new opportunities for ambitious India, aspiring youth, and a self-reliant India. The Prime Minister added that the FTA will help Indian manufacturers enhance their capabilities and is expected to open up India’s vast market to global trade. He described the deal as the “Mother of All Deals”, stating that it reflects a bright future for Indian youth and the country’s path toward progress.

Prime Minister does not take the opposition into confidence – Jairam Ramesh

Meanwhile, the Congress party reacted to the Prime Minister’s statement on the same day. Party General Secretary in-charge Jairam Ramesh alleged that the Prime Minister does not take the opposition into confidence at the start of the Parliament session and does not call all-party meetings. He further said that the Prime Minister always gives his own hypocritical messages on national issues and that this performance is part of the same pattern.
