18 killed in tragic road accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

18 people were killed and many others injured in a horrific road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway this morning. The accident took place near Garha village in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, when a double-decker bus travelling from Motihari in Bihar to Delhi collided with a speeding milk tanker.

The bus overturned several times due to the collision. The accident was so severe that the bus was shattered and many people were injured.

The injured were rushed to nearby medical centres, where doctors confirmed the death of 18 people. The deceased include 14 men, three women and a child, indicating the tragic deaths in the accident.

Giving preliminary information, Unnao District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi said, “The incident took place around 5:15 am when a private bus collided with a milk tanker. 18 people died in the accident, while 19 others were injured. The injured are currently undergoing treatment.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and directed officials to speed up relief operations. He said in a statement, “The death of people in a road accident in Unnao district is extremely sad and heart-rending. My condolences are with the bereaved families. District officials have been directed to immediately reach the spot and ensure quick relief work.”
